The one who looked inhuman was Mo.
Essentially fartleked his way to a 5-flat 2k with a jog in at the end - - missed the Canadian record by a sec and clobbered everyone else.
Reminded me of Henry Rono from 1978 when he set his 4 world records -- ran the NCAA final 5k as a fartlek while winning in 13:20s or whatever.

True, though Cam Levins ran 4:55i.
57.83/63.24 official splits for Shelby
60.17/62.60 for Karissa
It’s hard for me to imagine being capable of 14:2x for 5k but failing to break 2, but then again I’m male and I suck, relatively.
Splits I’m seeing are bunk for the men’s 2k, but the first 800 was covered in 1:53+ and Ahmed was able to walk away from the other guys after that.
Following women 800 prs:
Karissa: 2:02 down from 2:09
Colleen: 2:02 down from 2:06
Elise: 2:04-mid down from 2:04-high
Courtney: 2:06 first recorded time
Gwen: 2:12 first recorded time
Note: for these 5 BTC intrasquad meets, Courtney Frerichs got the most prs, setting them in the 600, 800, 1500, 3k, and 5k,
However, my female "GOAT" or MVP for this 5-meet series goes to Karissa. Prs in the 600, 800, 1500, and 5k. But, most importantly, for her 4:04 third leg on the 4x1500 relay which got the team back under WR pace and made it easy for Shelby to close it out.
Male MVP obviously to Mo. Now, one of the best in the world -- likely from 1500 to 10k -- with a 12:47/5k only 10 seconds (0.9/lap) off the world record. He appears to be where Mo Farah was several years ago -- stronger and faster than everyone else . If anyone deserves to get a break from Jerry to run just one meet in Europe this summer against the worlds best, it's him.
Thank you, BTC, for an incredibly entertaining last six weeks of racing.
women are so underwhelming in the 800.

That was so amazing. I wish that there was a video.

Lol. So much for the prattle about Slaney’s mile record being in jeopardy. Mary was special.

Not very impressive speed, just monster endurance. I feel like this is the equivalent of a male (let’s say Jakob) running 3:28 and 12:50, but then going out in 50 and tying up to run 1:45.xx
But finishing in 1:49.
Heh idk a 2:01 is what 6 seconds off a non-Semenya elite mark. You’re right maybe 1:46-7 is more like it

I think she gets it as well. 4:14.60 or maybe 4:15's. She's i great form. When I ran 14:20's for 5000m, I was running about a 4:12-4:16 mile open.
I ran 4:06 and could barely break 15:00.

Especially when one is prepared mainly for a 5000m best. With more real competitive 800m races and specific preparation, Houlihan might run 1:58 but why should she? There would still be 3-5 women in the US as good or better in the 800m. Much better to be in top shape for 1500-5k which is easier and often also less straining on the body. (Somewhat similar to the Ingebrigstens who supposedly hardly ever train their 1500m race pace.)

Especially Schweizer is clearly a long distance runner, look up how many of the sub 14:30 women have run sub 2. For most of them there is not even a mark for the 800m given at the IAAF data sheets, the only ones with sub 2 are Dibaba, Hassan, Houlihan, Klosterhalfen (and only Hassan has gone sub 1:59 although Dibaba probably ran faster than her official 800m PB in one of these extremely fast closing 1500m races like in Rio. Obiri has run 2:00 and change.
Many have not run 800m in ages and only old underage PBs. Or from a time when they were focussing on 800/1500m before mostly running longer distances. Even female 1500m runners with many sub 4 performances (Simpson, Rowburyoften have hardly broken 2 min, or only once.

It has to be seen that Mo is one of the best 1500m runners in the world! He is still at least 4,5 seconds from the best (not counting Timothy).
So far he is 10 seconds behind Jakob in the 2000m this season!
And before you rightly say that Mo could have run faster yesterday with good pacing I will point out this:
Jakob would have run the 2000m at Impossible Games at least 2 seconds faster if the Ingebrigtsens had run it to give Jakob a fast time and not primarily to make a good TEAM PERFORMANCE.
-------------------
It also has to be seen if he is " stronger and faster than everyone else" in the longer distances.

I don´t know what you want to prove Sapel?
It is evident that the best 1500m runners last year were more than 4,5 seconds faster than Mo has ever run.
And Mo is still not "faster and stronger than everyone else" in the 5,000m and 10,000m.
Mo is the fastest in the 5000m this year but his main competitors have not run the 5,000m yet. Some of them (fore example Jakob) might not get a fast 5000m at all in this virus year
