Hey all,
I am a 24 year old novice runner wondering if it would be worth it at some point to work towards a sub-60 400. I am a former high school soccer player, and I imagine I could run 100m in 12 seconds or so (hopefully). I'm not sure what my current 400 time is, but I'm guessing I could maybe hit 1:05.
Currently, I've been training to run the 3200 in under 12 minutes, and I should be there in a month or so.
Is a sub-60 400 something I could achieve on two or so track workouts a week and some lifting (I can squat about 250 for 4X5 with good form)? My endurance is probably lacking more than my speed, so is this something I could achieve by just getting in shape with some 4x300's? I have never trained for this distance before, just run some suicides and gassers for soccer.
