I dont recall anyone here believing that a WNBA team would beat a college team.
Regarding your statement about HS boys being able to beat womens times. This might be true but how many HS teams have 4x400 teams that run under 3:25? How many have guys under 2:00 for the 800? How many have 4x100s under 42 seconds? Looking at the results of track meets and relay carnivals I'd say less than half (especially if we take away California and Texas).
It's literally in the title of the thread, if wnba players could beat a college team. Do you recall that?.
I can't remember my high school's sprinters' times, but we had four guys under 2:00 and were ranked 6th in our region, not ranked in state. The state was not in California or Texas.
"Could" nobody said they would. Nobody believes it. I believe they'd beat an average HS team but not a very good HS team.
Regarding HS boys track. Some teams have very good sprinters some have very good distance runners but not many have enough depth to actually beat a team made up of Olympic women. How many teams have 4 guys under 11, 4 guys under 51, 4 guys under 2, and 4 guys under 4:05 in the 1500 and other guys who can run under 15:00 in the 5000. Results of most meets will show very few do.
I've seen teams of 4 studs basically win the state meet but in a dual meet they'd lose to olympic women.
To qualify for the New York State meet in the 4×800 you need to run under 7:58. You had an outstanding region if you were only ranked 6th.
