With no immediate competitions in sight, I thought I'd do a quick 60m time trial at the end of tonight's session. We haven't been permitted to use the facility's equipment just yet unfortunately, so blocks were out of question. So instead, I did a 5m rolling jog start. I wasn't 100% fresh as it was quite a heavy session, but I clocked a 6.40s (using my electronic timing gates). Obviously I know I wouldn't be anywhere near to this out of blocks, but I was just wondering if anyone has a rough idea of how a 60m with a 5m rolling jog start might compare to 60m with a block start time wise?
Maybe 7.4s because you also have to allow for reaction time out of the blocks.
I ran 6.50s fly 60m a week ago, a longer lead in though, and my best 60m FAT time has been 7.71.
Why wouldn't you use a 3 point stance? Works well enough for the 40yd dash
