Big Jim didn't drop out. He had a dinner reservation to make. He's a man of his word and didn't want to keep the lady waiting. Big Jim is the best athlete in the world right now. Don't hard the player, hate the game.

So if Jim can run a single course faster than kilian has done in the past that calls Kilians entire career into question? Wow, the dumb comments just keep on coming don’t they?
Excellent assessment.

Walmsley sets up a personal goal and sadly doesn’t nail it. Income the haters.

I garee. The biggest problem is that Jim has a lot of ignorant and deluded fans.
Jim has a lot of fans who like p1ss off the aholes who get on every thread and denigrate him.
They are too stupid to realize what we are doing.
This is true. Walmsley fanboys didn't exist until these obsessed anti-Jim weirdos crapped on every ultra thread ranting about Walmsley fanboys. I find it amusing.

This is truly amazing to see. Everybody knows that Big Jim is the best runner that the world has ever seen, but this run just solidifies that he's on track to be a better athlete than MJ. Can't wait to see a documentary about Big Jim's unbelievable career in twenty years time.
Bahaha surely you don't mean the Michael Jordan lmao. Or is MJ some descent athlete you went to high school with?
So he had an 80min lead on the record and then crumbles?! Lmfao. Yup sounds like the Michael Jordan I've seen. The documentary should be more interesting now anyway.
Gosh, a guy heads out alone on a 100 mile journey during a pandemic with little other running news and he mostly gets sh*t for it...
Hardly alone. He had crew support and pacers from the looks of it.
I dont know. The trolls are pretty easy to spot. Jim definitely has fans who are very ignorant of trail and ultra running such as the poster in this thread that 'works in the industry' explaining how we 'don't understand' that Walsmley is 'the best trail runner in the world'.
No. Check youtube. Walmsley and his crew are plastered all over the place. A big part of what he does is generate content about his running, and he does a LOT of talking on those videos. He's made himself into a public figure to do what all the kids do these days, to 'monetize' his presence and I'm sure he makes a buck from doing so. There is at least one video on youtube featuring this latest attempt by the Run Steep Get High guy Jamil as well.
I'm sure Walmsley is a good human being but with the purposeful public presence comes commentary.
I've not seen anything official. Could this be another psyche job by Jim? Like when he only qualified for the OT by one second and was the favorite. I just wonder if he just turned off his GPS and still finished the run on the course record but did it on the sly. That is entirely possible.

Nowhere did I say it calls his "entire career" into question. Pay attention.
Maybe the favorite to blow up...

When was Jim Walmsley ever the favorite to win the Olympic Trials? He even said it himself before the Trials that he thought he had a chance to make the team only if a couple of the "expected" contenders had a bad day and he had a really good one.

your wrong about this too, Sage Canada is the ultrarunner with more presence in YouTube, in fact he makes about $80,000 per year in profit for his daily video views

You said "I think it would call Kilian's supremacy into question." His supremacy is based on his career is it not?
