DeBues-Stafford's events suit Bowerman better than Young's group which is 800/1500 runners.
That said, under Young's training DeBues-Stafford raced the 1500 12 freaking times last year from June through October and ran her fastest time in her last race -- the World Championships final. Can't see anybody in Bowerman, Houlihan included, being able to do that.
If one discounts the two mile races included (Monaco, huge PB, and Birmingham, lost to Koko in windy conditions), the Doha heats/semi and the Canadian trials, she improved her PB in all her races but Pre. Her old PB was 4:03.55 from Berlin 2017 (a race worth watching to appreciate the stunning improvement of both GDS and Houlihan between then and now), which she improved in Rome (early June) to 4:01.28. June 10th, Rabat 4:00.46, (June 30th, Pre 4:02.06), July 20th, London 4:00.26, Aug 29th, Zurich 3:59.59, oct 5th, Dohan 3:56.12. That's enough improvement for half a decade in one season.
