So he's like a groupie or something? Just seems kinda sucky to be following around and keeping up a friendship with a group of people so heavily focused on something you can't even really be a part of. All you can do is watch and not really relate while that's all they do.
Oh no! The kids seems to be running easy during the summer time! The horror. We all know the Kenyans never have conversational jogs and are always super seriously and uptight.
how do you know that Wake forest has covid?

What, did you look up "hemorrhoid" on tfrrs? You fool, you don't know how fast I am!
But since you seem interested, I'll have you know I'm a sub-5 miler ??
Is 6:30 pace really conversational pace? Seems like some of their easy runs are actually pretty hard esp for the girls...maybe it's just for the flex.
Anyway, who cares. Watch a few mins of kids calling each other simps and drinking out of glasses on runs or cook your brain on other YouTube garbage. The trash is in abundance
I find the YouTube, Colorado videos this summer entertaining for several reasons. Kind of reminds me of hanging with my friends at that age before people stared getting married, getting desk jobs and the like. But also during covid its good to see people enjoying themselves. Totally encompasses the good times of being young and outdoors. But more importantly, it is simple motivation for me to go for a run.
I almost always get psyched for an easy run after wathcing. Thoughh, I like the wisdom of Drew Hunter at the other camp best.. Or any video on food, lol

You sound like the kind of guy that asks his wife for permission to go get a drink with friends. You can keep the good times rolling. Don't let the corporate machine turn you into a frumpy desk jockey. Drop me a line bro, I'll save you.
Girls definitely 'flexing' on what an easy pace run is. Boys can probably live at that pretty easy.
I run somewhere between the boys and girls PRs, and 6.30s at altitude would probably be a push. Most easy runs be closer to 7s

They’ve been booling since 2017, it’s definitely not an issue. Ben not being an NCAA distance runner isn’t going to shatter their relationship, these people have other things in their lives than running. Try making friends with some non runners, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, no way that's easy run pace for them.

6:30 pace was an easy conversational pace in HS when I was a 16:00 5k runner. It is what we did every day except for after a really hard workout or maybe a race. Some days we were feeling good and did more like 6:15. Somedays we slowed down to 6:45 or so. Granted we weren't at altitude which is worth 15-20s. When you are only running 50-60mpw, your easy run pace doesn't need to be some 8:00 jog.

Maybe you convinced yourself it was easy because the whole group was doing it, but 6:30's and certainly 6:15's, is not easy everyday pace for a 16:00 guy. You were overtraining, that's one of the reasons you weren't faster (I don't know the other reasons without knowing more about your training).

Maybe. But I noticed that I raced faster than all the other kids running slower easy runs:) Go read any of the training books from the 70s/80s and they all talk about doing easy runs 90s-2:30 off of mile PR.
Would it have been better to go for 70mpw at a slower pace? Maybe. But that wasn't an option. We ran at a pace that we could do and would be recovered enough to race the next day. That sounds about right.
Are we just going to ignore the fact that hey were hanging on the back of the pickup truck and even riding in it to catch up ? definitely changed the moving speed of the run up a bit faster
There's a difference in 'easy' and 'in control'. People mix it up all the time. 6.30s doesn't take huge effort for sub16 5km runners, but that doesn't make it easy.
I just find it so funny that you people are spewing garbage online and have nothing constructive to say about people minding their own business and doing their own thing. Music has zero to do with anything, how old are you to even make such an ignorant statement? Just came to see all toxic people in their feelings about people who they'll never be like. Stay mad and continue watching you fucking haters.

When training on "Pure Hate" adhere to the following guidelines:
Best to train alone so you won't be distracted if God wants to speak to you.
Never take breaks for discomfort.
Avoid crowds of jobby joggers, unstable walkers, and disgruntled e-bikers.
Never listen to music.
Only carry water if you are running over 2 hours.
Never carry any electronic devices with you.
Best to silently align Jesus prayer with pulse rate.
If at all possible your running attire including shoes should not be made in China.
Never wear a mask unless near a volcano.
Finally someone who gets it

This is definitely the Evert kid. So much angst.
as a certified has-been (albeit with some NCAA hardware in my closet), I'm here for this. Takes me back to how fun it was. Don't hate on the kids.
