Seems like a publicity seeker.
Wonder if BTC wants to have information leaked on upcoming events?
Would make better sense for BTC to announce such things given all that is entailed in pulling of these events.
some details:
Location: Blue River, Oregon (newly surfaced McKenzie Community Track) same location as Pete Julian's Bigger Friendly
8PM start
1500m races
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ_-T9cpxMI
looks spectator friendly
This race has been posted on Dyestat's home page and calendar page for the past few days.
In a podcast last week with a Missouri-based media outlet, Karissa mentioned the team has two more races left, the next being "next Tuesday or Friday" with the intent being to go after prs and national records. Dyestat and now CQ have confirmed it's on Tuesday (7/21).
Like the last BTC intrasquad meet, this one will also be broadcast live on USATF.tv (subscription required).

1500? 3k?
Maybe a steeple?
Will Blankenship and Mead be included?
Regarding Ben & Hassan, I wish . . . but sadly, likely not.
Both Shelby & Karissa in their recent podcast interviews have stated the team is content to finish off the season with intrasquad time trials.
Portland Track is the organization that hosts the Portland Track Festival (in June usually a week after the Pre meet) and has been responsible for coordinating/managing the two recent "Big Friendly" meets involving multiple training groups in the region -- except BTC.
The company's vision statement reads:
PORTLAND TRACK IS THE LEADING VOICE OF THE PORTLAND, OREGON TRACK AND FIELD COMMUNITY, BRINGING TOGETHER FANS, ATHLETES AND COACHES TO CELEBRATE THE SPORT
However, there has not been one mention of the two BTC meets on Portland Track's website or social media sites. This seems odd given PT's stated purpose above.
Possible that Jerry and Michael Bergman/PT President don't see eye-to-eye.
Just as possible that Jerry has told Michael he wants to take advantage of this non-championships year to give his athletes a break from serious competition, instead having them focus on these low-stress time trial races amongst themselves to conclude the summer season prior to starting a long buildup to Tokyo in October.
In any case, 1500m races on Tuesday seem most likely. Shelby stated she would like to get that sub-4 feel back in legs by rabbiting her teammates -- which would mean Karissa, Elise & Colleen. Likely Lopez and Mo would do the same for some combo of the Bowerman Bros.

There is not going to be much international steeplechase but I thought Shelby, Karissa and maybe also the two best male 5k runners from BTC would start in Monaco in August?

I love seeing records and PRs I'm really excited for this :)
The recent intrasquad meets have led to insane times, I really hope that this is the race they're peaking for and everyone on the team runs amazing times. It's really good to see the US finally getting a lot of athletes fast enough to challenge East Africans, since for the past few Olympics Rupp has been the only real medal threat on the guys side (above 1500m).
Hoping to see some great times in this meet :)

What? We have other Americans who have not only threatened to medal but won medals above 1500m in the past few Olympics.

Has there actually? I can't speak for the girls because I don't know as much about them, but I'm learning more from these meets.
I guess Meb came kinda close in the 2012 Marathon, but other than that I can't think of any American guy other than Rupp who has medalled since 2008 over 1500m. Ward came kinda but I thought it was pretty surprising that he placed so high.
Lagat was a real medal contender but I don't really think of him as American since he spent so much time competing for Kenya.
Evan jager- bronze and silver
Matthew centrowitz- gold and bronze
...there are more

"I can't speak for the girls because I don't know as much about them"
- a truer Letsrun slogan I've not come across
Anyway...Paul Chelimo. Evan Jager. Emma Coburn.
Plus a lot more that "threatened".

Ah I didn't know that that's pretty dope though. I've only been following running stuff for the past few months so it's kinda a lot to learn.
With no virus, and the Olympics this year as intended, would we have seen Jager running the steeple?

Jerry’s athletes don’t challenge the East Africans; they only challenge themselves. At the last world championships, they had a grand total of 1 medal. And yet, here we are, acting like they’re a top tier group.
Jerry’s group will never challenge the best until they’re actually willing to race them. I find it infuriating to listen to people praise their time trials. This group is afraid to race against the best, and they’re contributing to the falling popularity of the sport by staying away from races and running time trials that no one gets to see. I wish these marks weren’t considered as records or qualifying marks since they aren’t actual races. Maybe Jerry would then start racing his athletes and start caring about the sport that’s given him his nice life.

Just so you know. He represented kenya from 2000-2004 so by my math that is 4 years. someone can tell me if I correctly added that up.
He has been representing america from 2005-2020 so 15 years.
You guys have to stop this who "ReAl AmEriCan" thing to invalidate real american's representing us. The only real american's by your standards if actually applied to all northern americans are native americans. This is literally a country of immigrants.
Excluding Centro and Jorgenson. Jager, Infield, Mo, Hill, Cragg, Frerichs, and Shelby all literally are medal challengers or have got one at some point.. It is a big group but they do have contenders.
True. And besides, what meets are there to be avoided nowadays? This is their approach to the current state of track and field and it is clearly getting people excited about what could happen in the upcoming Olympics even if you aren't. I say job well done for BTC

I don't have any problem with the time trials. There aren't any actual meets to run in. But there is no reason to get excited for the olympics because of these time trials. These are not races and do not resemble races in any way. These tell us nothing about what the athletes will do in a real race.

Europe has banned travelers from the US so no Monaco.
