From Kim Puzey today
Update on Tommy Rivers Puzey
“Don’t get dead.”
He said it all the time.
It wasn’t trepidatious or overly cautionary.
I always received it as “Have a great day. Don’t waste the gift. Enjoy the beauty. I love you.”
He finished the first round of chemotherapy.
The cancer is aggressive and so is the proportional treatment.
The medical team are in the watching-waiting-monitoring-tweaking phase.
I trust them.
They are scientists and artists doing beautiful work.
The “Food Face” is because he mentioned Bobby Flay and Anderson Cooper in the video he made from the ICU in Flagstaff.
He has always been interested in being informed. Anderson Cooper is one of many sources of information.
He also loves food. He’s a decent chef. He knows his way around the kitchen; the tools, techniques, properties, portions, and importance of presentation.
If you’re going to eat, it might as well be beautiful, delicious, and nutritious.
It’s science and art. He’s good at both.
I’m excited for him to come back and eat real food again.
His present circumstances have made all of us more thoughtful and mindful.
Those attributes we’re acquiring are coming at an extremely high price. They’re a gift he would want us to continue to develop.
Thoughtfulness.
Mindfulness.
Gratitude.
Love.
