A couple global medals, a couple 8:01 performances, Diamond League win......that’s Jager being essentially silent?

I agree that the women have been competitive and should be even more competitive in the future. They’ve proven themselves internationally over and over again.
My comments were in regards to the men. From 2016-2019, this group was essentially silent. Ahmed and Lomong changed that at world champs.
For the rest of these 12:58-13:15 guys, I’m not convinced they’ll achieve much internationally until they actually attempt to. Now, obviously they get a pass for the past 6 months, but their lack of standards going into the 2019 us champs speaks for itself.

You’re wasting your time in arguing with someone that has a preconceived notion. They refuse to budge, even when presented with facts that refute said false notion.

Don’t forget Hill’s Indoor silver. Joke about the 3000 all you want, if that was an outdoor event, Hill would likely have a medal there as well.
Beat Iguider, Chelimo, Koech, Ndiku, Choge, Ahmed, Alamirew.

As well as a 13 flat and 13:02. Pretty impressive.
I heard Coach Jerry at a coaching conference talking about his “system.” Most of it is based on his “observations.”
A lot of “Did you ever notice...” and “What is the deal with...”
Not impressed.
The only thing I can't figure out is why he can't get a male to run well in the marathon. This is not meant to rip him, but they have really underperformed in that event.
I completely neglected to mention what he had done with solinsky and tegankamp in my previous run down of his athletes.
Solinsky- broke 27 and 13. Held AR for 10k
Tegankamp- sub 13 almost world champs medalist. Olympic team.
Interesting that solinsky teg Ahmed and jager have only been coached by Schumacher since high school. He got all 4 to Wisconsin and beyond. That’s pretty impressive.
So those 4 guys he recruited out of high school ran 1247, 1255, 1258 and 1301. Wow.

Ahmed was coached by Mick in college.
OMG people. Don’t read too much into stuff. BTC are straight up ballers. Glad to see fast times. Stay healthy out there.

What has kept Chris Derrick from having a breakthrough with this group? I thought sub 13:10 would definitely have been in the cards for this kid. I know he switched to marathon but still...
And I know he’s been injured quite a bit but some of the others got Injured too and came back to kill it

BTC athletes rarely seem to be bad when they compete.
When they compete. When is that? They didn't exactly do much before this year either.

he's run sub 13:10 on more than one occasion, if die hard fans on letsrun can't bother to know these things how do we expect the general public to.
I think McGorty Fisher could go 13:00 to 13:05 with faster pacing for the first 3k. They were 8:06 at 3k in that 13:11 race. Go out in 7:55 would be ideal

I was at the same conference. It was pretty poor.
I asked why his athletes didn't race, all he could come back with was "I choose not to race".

What's Jerrys last name?

Schumacher has been doing it year after year without controversy. It's a very impressive record. I don't know about you, I'm getting really excited to get to the next Olympics or World Championships.
I would say Jager showing up on the likely doping list is not without controversy. People choose to ignore that, plus, the fact that several of Jerry's people in the last few years have transformed from also rans to worldly-competitive. I'd bet Jerry is as dirty as Salazar ever was.

Outside of lomong and Ahmed at the world champs last year, I do not remember any impressive international races that these men have participated in.
All three time trials have been impressive, but they haven’t consistently shown the ability to complete against international talent in real races (because they so rarely actually race).
That’s the next step. We’ll see if they take it.

Your posts about the men was a) facutally wrong and b) logically flawed.
Moh Ahmed was 4th at the 2016 Olympics and 6th in 2017. Jager medalled in 2016 and 2017.
The reason why other men weren't competitive isn't because they didn't race enough, it's because they weren't good enough. If you are an 8:10+ steepler, you aren't going to medal or be a factor at Worlds. The same is true of 13:05 + plus guys in the 5000.
Racing isn't a hard skill to learn for most honestly. If you are firt, you just get in the pack, use as much energy as possible and then kick. People are writing, "A race is harder as you have to respond to moves." I agree a race is harder than a time trial but the key in a race is to actually not respond to moves. Do what Mo Farah does, let's everyone else screw around while he sits in the back of the pack early barely covering any moves knowing that it's unlikely anyone will break free early. Then he gets ready to kick.

Would have to agree with your analysis.
Next time around, these two up and coming talents in the professional ranks will have the confidence to know they can run that kind of pace. Bet they both were thinking they hadn’t ever been in that time frame and wondering if the wheels might fall off. Their wheels didn’t fall off and they both were able to kick very well off of that very fast pace. For them, they have to be very pleased. For all the BTC athletes, they have to be very pleased.

Understand what your saying but realize Schumacher has been a closed book for over 20 years. He does not let his reasons/secrets out. He is a master of mind games and manipulating competitors. He did it at Wisconsin and does it at BTC. Probably not the best person to speak at a conference but generally a very personable guy.
