My upper body is longer relative to my overall height...but its mostly because my neck and head are long. I even told the guy when I was buying it soo, no reason for there to be a problem.
I also feel how much the flat handlebar inhibits speed. When the handlebar is flat it kind of prevents you from really driving your quads into the pedals without your hips and waist moving side to side, especially on the uphills. I think this is what causes the pain; the side-to-side motion while your spine is in a very hunched and unnatural position. Versus on a road bike with a drop handlebar, your position emulates a climb/stand position while still being seated. It looks much more comfortable. Maybe I should have though twice about what kind of bike I needed...cause I don't commute on it at all.
