Wondering if it’s only Alphafly from here on out... I hope not! Next% is a great shoe. Anyone have the inside scoop on any new color releases planned for next%? thanks

They're still making them for the time being and probably for quite a while yet. There's the Olympic colourway and then a black and white colourway that should be coming. Look on the protosofthegram Instagram.
Of course, the shoes have different strengths/purposes.
The Next% is a fast racer, ideal for road 5k, 10k, and track 5k, 10k.
The AlphaFly is a pure HM/marathon shoe, slower over 5k and 10k, but more energy saving.
The AlphaFly is also a bit easier on the legs, but I don't recommend working out in any of the shoes (apart from maybe a few tune-up sessions to get used to them) and use other flats that help more in strengthening the foot muscles.

The AlphaFly was used by the Jakob for his road 5k - maybe he was just testing it out but I think it's going to be a good 5k shoe
From what I've seen in the reviews the Alpha fly isn't strictly better than the Next %, it really is a very different shoe. Some people like the alpha fly a lot more, some people like next % a lot more.
What I've noticed is shorter / lighter runners tend to prefer next %s, while larger runners might like the extra cushioning more. It could also have to do with biomechanics of runners since the Alpha fly is significantly bouncier.

Alphafly is 7.4 oz, Next % 6.6 oz, in the same size. You don't need the additional rubber and cushioning for a 5k or 10k. But the shoes are so different these days that some runners might actually be faster in the Alphafly, I wouldn't be surprised. Same can be said about the LT4 - a very efficient, light/short runner might be faster on a road 5k in the LT4 than in either Alphafly/Next%.
In any case, the new Nike Spikes Prototype beats both of them easily in a track 5k/10k. Even McSweyn, who successfully raced in the Vaporfly on the track before, set an even bigger PR with the new spikes.
Whos next!!!? Snarl!!!
thanks. was worried i might not be able to get my Next% fix for my big virtual races. But seriously I am glad to hear that they’ll still be making it
There are no plans to stop producing the Next %. Despite sharing the VF name they will continue as two separate lines. Expect to see a new VF and new Alphafly model next year in addition to the Hyperfly. I think this may spell the end for the Streak or perhaps a new and cheaper traditional flat will be produced.

Imteresting, source?
Of course, the real question is:
Will interns and general flunkies in Beaverton continue starting threads in lieu of paid advertising?

Hope not - they are very different shoes in very different price categories. There ought to be room for both in the stable.
Does anyone know when the Vaporfly Next % or Alphafly will be back in stock? Nike Store, Dick's, Eastbay, Running Warehouse have been out of the Vaporfly for months. The Alpha shows out of stock as well. Any input appreciated.

I believe they are in the adjacent price categories of stratospheric and mesospheric.

Not correct.
Lots of videos on Youtube of people doing comparison runs. Some are faster in the Alpha for 5k, some are faster in the Next% for 5k. There are 268 trillion variables...
For me I believe the AlphaFlys would be a better choice for 5k to Marathon than the Next%. The main reason is I struggle with shoes that have no inner support like the Pegasus or zoom turbo. I get injured in those shoes training.
I know the Alpha Flys are a lot wider in the rear than the Next %. Which to me translates to more stability. The next % looks very narrow in the rear and would be unstable to me. AlphaFlys look a lot wider in the rear and means more stable to me. I could train in the AlphaFlys and race in them. I’m kinda afraid to get in the VaporFlys due to that stability concerns. If I was though it would be in a 5k and maybe a 10k.
I have no issues in spikes of any kind but I get severely injured in Pegasus and Pegasus turbos within a week of running in them. Pain in the Glute and nerve that makes it impossible to put a sock on or walk down stairs for 4-5 weeks
The Olympic colourway is already for sale outside USA.
The previous color (valerian blue/green) was also made available 2 or 3 weeks before internationally, so I would expect that model to be released in USA before end of july (and to sale fast, also)
