It depends on the spike
Look for a shoe that's a bit flat with some heel support.
Don't run in those sprinter types shoes.
Light is key. Spikes are there for some traction. But at the speed your run in the 5 k there won't be much slippage.

only example you can find is 19yo Japanese girl... this is supposed to prove me wrong?
Well, considering the japanese girl - despite numerous attempts - didn't even break 15:20 before, and the other example, Keira D'Amato, only has a 2:34 marathon PB, I think those performances are remarkable too. Or do you seriously want to claim that both would have run even faster in traditional spikes? (easy answer: surely not)
The main reason there aren't more fast 5k track times in Vaporflys probably is that Nike athletes already got access to those prototype spikes (dragonfly/air zoom victory), which obviously combine the benefits of both systems and therefore are even better.

nike has done cheaterflys with spikes for elite runners. I bet they used those.
And 10k is not 5k

This proves nothing. Young athletes are improving a lot every year so if the PR in spikes was set previous year, improvment comes from training and aging, not from VF.
And i don't see recent 5k pour the other one but a women able of 2:08 in 800 and 2h34 in marathon is obivously good at 5k
One thing we can all take away from this is the difference is very minimal. A change of shoes might save you 5 seconds either way but a slight adjustment to your pacing could save you 20 seconds.
Also, the people making out as though the 10k is totally different to the 5k are idiots. The difference between your 10k race pace and 5k race pace is ~4%. Like that's really going to matter.
it is not only about the pace but also the length of the race
Sondre Moen did set 10k track norwegian record in VF.
This. It's far easier to settle into 70s rhythm (which is what elite marathoners are at anyway) in vaporflies than dragonflies
