Chronic ankle/leg issues not resolving?
Hi there! So in Late March I overdid it running around a track everyday, and my left ankle ached. I had Peroneal tendonitis. I rested it two weeks -went for a run - still hurt. I went to a PT who worked to restore my strength, and flexibility. Everything seemed great, on the mend. However, after about 5 weeks of rest and mini ankle exercises, my left knee started to feel achey. Followed by my left hip. I went to a chiropractor who said I had a hip hike. It was visually obvious my hips weren’t aligned. She cracked my back and my hips now look even and aligned. I still had knee issues however, so I went to an orthopedist who said that I had weak hips and my weak ankle had led to my knee just handling all the pressure. I went back to PT and now I’ve been focusing on strengthening my core, glutes and hips along with eccentric calf raising, eccentric drops on a stool, single squats. She’s also been working with me on the hip alignment. My knee stopped hurting after two weeks. Finally feeling like my self, I decided to go for a short one mile run. However, upon returning from a pain free run — the interior of my left ankle is now hurting, indicating I probably pronated and let my posterior or anterior tibialis pick up all the slack. It’s still a bit sore after 3 days. I had gone to a podiatrist who told me to try insoles. My arch is there but a little low. Ive done the tests and you can’t see my toes from behind my foot so it’s not a severe over pronation. I’ve tried insoles and don’t feel any difference tbh? My gait feels foreign with them and I still get shin splints.
I’m at a loss of what to do honestly. I just want my left leg to operate normally. Any advice? I know i should get more medical opinions but the costs are starting to add up so thought I’d come here. Please help.
