Medial tibial tendonitis. I've had it.
I pull on a regular white cotton mid-calf length sport sock and fill the medial side with crushed ice. Let it sit there, right on your skin, for 10-15 minutes. Works like a dream for me. I do it daily.
Try to stay off harder surfaces, especially concrete, for a while. Trails are better. Once you're better, you can hit the roads. But keep icing.
I meant to note that you should ice AFTER ever run. Not before, obviously, and not too long after the run. Up to an hour is okay. The point is to decrease post-run inflammation and give things a chance to heal.
It could be a muscle tear as well. The advice to run on softer surfaces is good. A little rest/cross training should allow recovery if it is a tear or tendonitis and not too severe. Otherwise it would be a good idea to have a physio take a look.
