so today I ran 6 x 1 mile on the track with ~ 90s rest between each, here are the splits:
05:48
05:41
05:49
05:50
05:44
05:50
what 5k time do you think this indicates? or 10k time?

you can run 10k same pace as you averaged in this workout or even a bit faster. so 5:45 probably
Yes, I agree, that’s a good 10k pace.
If you were on the track, I’m surprised your times weren’t more consistent. Not that 9 seconds is a big difference, but one of the values of the track is to dial in and be super consistent so you can feel the difference between 1-2 seconds per 400.
16:58
looks like I was setting off too fast with each rep... : https://ibb.co/DQw3H18
Just looking at this one workout i'd figure around 17:20-17:30 and 36:10-36:30
current 5k PR is 18:11 btw.
thanks all

That's pretty normal. Kind of stride out hard for 100m then settle in.
Depending on what your other training looks like and what kind of runner you are: 35 high to 36 mid for 10k. 17:00-17:30 for 5k.
how was the effort of the workout? there would be a difference if it was a tempo effort or all out, or something in between

felt harder than a tempo. and wasn't tapered of course...
hopefully I can do another time trial soon and find out for sure... how often do you think it's good to do time trials? of 5k?
I actually did 6x mike this past weekend, but with a 30 second recovery.
5:50, 5:41, 5:34, 5:31, 5:31, 5:26.
What does this indicate?
