I distinctly remember him saying that he knows for a fact that Centro eats gummy bears all day when he flies somewhere to race. If you train a lot it's going to be pretty hard to have a caloric surplus most days. There's simply no way someone the size of an elite distance runner can out eat their training, the only time they should really be watching what they eat is when they are injured and not able to train.
