Fed Ex, Nike, other sponsors are pulling their endorsements. I think its the nail in the coffin for the "Redskin" name.

They already have the Nationals and Capitals. Should just change it to the Americans and be done with it. Anybody that disagrees can leave.
If it is offensive to describe somebody on the street as a "Redskin" or use the work in a business probably shouldn't be the name of a NFL team.

Nationals is offensive. It reeks too much of "America First." The name is very anti-immigrant and xenophobic. Capitals is offensive because it indicates that one city has dominion over all others. Especially if that city is named after a slave-owner (and Father of our nation, blah, blah, blah).

Cardinals will be the next to go. Red Skinned Bird.
Who cares? NFL was already on thin ice. Now they’re a joke. They’ve lost me forever.
And Roger Goodell is a weaksuck pos.
Change the name to the Washington Uighurs.
See how Nike works with that.
I think Snyder has been waiting for the league to force him to do it. And he'll demand some financial compensation for the loss of branding.
Is Redskins any more offensive than Vikings?
And what's with all these bird and animal names? PETA should be sll over that.
They should replace all existing NFL mascots with numerical ones.
The Washington Ones.
The Dallas Twos.
The San Francisco Sixty Niners...

The Redskins were actually named after the Boston Red Sox. Should they also change their name?

Money is very important to Dan. I can see him backtracking on this one.
FedEx bought the stadium naming rights in 1998 for $205M which runs through to 2025.
Contractually is there any reason, if Snyder refuses to change the team name, that FedEx couldn't then change the stadium name to "Dan's a Dick Stadium" or "Fedex Want The Name Changed Stadium" ?

He believes himself above law and everything else.
But as the pressure grows he may have to become a tiny bit aware and realize he has to adjust.
His instinct will be to seek compensation for doing the right thing
The Washington Post was going to show how offensive this term was to Native Americans, 90% of them said they weren't offended. So who is this offensive to?

I think a resolution that will make fans of the team happy and for him to keep his word would be that Snyder sells the team and a new owner changed the name.
Redskins fans hate Dan Snyder.
I grew up close to a former player for that team. He was African American. I once asked him what he thought of the team’s name. He said he had come to regard it is offensive, and wondered what people would think of it was called “The Washington N ... ers “.

As a Norwegian from Minnesota that was my first thought. Obviously it’s a stupid caricaturization of our people but who really cares, if anything it was a source of pride for me as a kid.
