Can any of you folks recommend a Dr./ Surgeon that is good at diagnosing piriformis syndrome and possibly surgery if needed?
I'm from Central PA but willing to travel 100 miles to find the right doctor in successfully diagnosing this (hopefully someone reputable within that radius). Been dealing with 'pain in the butt' and sciatic symptoms for 15 years. Started off unbearable for about 4-5 months and then subsided. While it has been manageable, I'm unable to run for much more than 2 miles before things shut down in my right leg. I've been off running for probably four years so the area has definitely had 'rest' but strengthening activities of that gluetes don't help with the problem. All pain is in my rt side and runs down my hamstring and tightness/ tingling in my calf and toes as well.
I've seen tons of doctors and had a ton of tests done but nothing significant shows up. Some cam impingement is right hip and partial labreal tear is about as significant as it gets. Most doctors were not alarmed with this as being the root cause.
Looking for someone who specializes in piriformis treatment (and surgery) if needed.
Thanks!
