From a recommendation on this forum I finally settled on my new shoe - the Asics 2000 7. It took a long time but I got it. Thank you! Jere's a brief review:
The Asics 2000 7 is very stiff and firm shoe with minimum but effective cushioning. The intelligent design rides low and is fairly fast but it can be used as a slow trainer. Looks nice, too. The only downsides is possibly not enough shock absorption for running several miles daily but time will tell. The other downside is that the shoe is last years model. There's plenty stock around now but it won't last , I did try the most recent 2000 8 model and it has a totally different midsole. Asics jumped on the squishy foam train on this model. It's ok but not my preference.
Stiff shoes like this are not typical these days so I am thankful to the poster on this website for the recommendation. Thank you again.
