What were Bekele's PRs at the age of 18?
7:43, 13:13, and I think 28:54 on the roads but hadn't run a track 10000 yet.
Also 2nd at World XC as an 18 year old though.

Does anyone have a vid of the Andersen race?

Or Zurich when he lost to Lagat. I have looked for that for awhile but never was able to find it.
No video, but it was the last race of his 1997 unbeaten season to that point. He ran 3:28 and became world champ for the first time in that year. He was tired and didn't push the pace, it was really slow, 5k pace until the last 300m. Robert Andersen beat him by 0.02" with a 52" last lap. After this defeat, he didn't lose a single race in almost 3 years and set 3 world records.

3:26/3:43/8:23/12:50. 4 times World Champ 2 times Olympic Champ(could have been more, messed up in Atlanta and Sydney). 5 losses in 8 years(races from 1500m-2 miles), 96% win rate, 107 out of 112 races. He only lost once to Lagat, once to Ngeny, once to Andersen(super slow 4:04 mile) and 2 times he fell(Rome DL, Atlanta OG). Most dominant in history?

Some people here don't understand the system Morocco were operating at the time. A cross between the GDR and Ma's army.
The GDR had the benefit of roids and little testing. I believe the GDR even invented roids that are no longer available and were stronger than anything today.
That's why Marita Koch is still the 400m women's wr holder.
Morocco in the 90's benefitted from EPO being available and no testing for it.
The reason why El G is still the WR holder at 1500.

Doping has a bigger effect on women, that's why women records are so old and unbeatble by far.
El Guerrouj was a supreme talent, the chosen one at 1500m.

"El Guerrouj was such a great 1500/5000 runner.
It is hard to run a 5k time trial after a 10 000m final and a 5 000m heat in the same week.
Bekele would have needed to go sub 12:50 to be sure to beat El Guerrouj as it was El Guerrouj breaking point (we have seen it against Shaheen, he had zero finish left at 12:50). Or he would have needed to run a crazy last 2k like in 2008 when he broke Lagat.
sub 12: 50 >>>> Bekele sure to win
12:50 >>>> 12:55 close
12:55 >>>> 13 El G favourite
over 13 >>>> El G sure to win"
The likely outcome between El G and Bekele in a 5000m race as posted in another thread by an user, i agree thoroughly with his statement.

Yes, unless there's a runner who has a 100% win rate at 1500m/mile, who has been Olympic champion and has also set a world record at the distance. Oh, and they have to do that in an Olympic final too.

Also ideal amount of EPO.
I do think he could've given the 3000 and 5000 WRs a scare with more exposure to those events.
Why bring up EPO? Everyone in that era and everyone who challenged EL G were on EPO.
