I don't know if you're trying to be funny or really are just ignorant. Lots of smart, talented people choose the juco route. The friends I made in JUCO are all quite successful in their chosen fields: Independent business owner, IT department manager for a major inventory tracking software developer, high school principal, biochemist......
One went off to run at Arkansas during the McDonnell heyday. 2 won USATF Junior titles
Remember kids, your diploma is printed with the name of the school from which you earn your bachelor's degree. As an added bonus, you can go to JUCO for FREE in CA. Seems like paying tens of thousands of dollars without actually needing to is the dumb thing to do.
Facts matter. Smart kids go to highly selective schools. Other smart kids choose their state school or private school because they get large scholarships. Smart kids pay less at 4 year colleges than they would at a JUCO. So why would a smart kid choose to pay more to attend a JUCO? And if a kid is a world class athlete, he gets a full ride at the school of his choice but only gets tuition paid at a JUCO.
Unless you’re getting a full ride it’s stupid not to go to a community college your first two years. I wish I had and saved a boat load of money. Anyways you can jump in invites and race D1 runners if you’re fast enough. Many of those D1 runners are paying 10x as much for the same general ed. credits your getting at community college.
Average tuition at a JUCO is $5k. Average tuition at a D1 state school is $12k. And scholarship for athketics or academics and prices are close. It is never 10x.
