Leul Gebresilase has a PB of 59.18 set in Valencia in 2017 when second. In the last World Half Champs he was tenth in 61.07.

Following is my profile from Houston:
Fifth woman should be Brillian Jepkorir, 24yo and ranked 28. Last Sept was fifth in Copenhagen in her PB of 67.12 then the next month won a half in Boston in 67.40. Was only 9th there in Boston the previous year in 76.00. There is a big gap in her recorded results between 2012 and 2017.
How do we round out the top ten? Salpeter? Another Ethiopian (winner of this event two years ago), or Brillian?
Tenth lady might be Lonah Salpeter, winner in Tokyo this year over the classic distance. Her two half splits that day were 69.16 and 68.29. Her PB over this distance is 66.09 from Prague the previous year. Following is my mini bio from Tokyo:
Next woman should be Lonah Salpeter, 31yo and ranked 16. Following is my profile from Kolkata 25k where she did't start.
Before the w/champs I thought Ruth would win and two of the Ethiopians would battle with salpeter for the minor medals. The Ethiopian girls were underwhelming: retiring early in the high humidity. Lonah gave it absolutely everything until her body actually gave out and she collapsed. Don’t know how one month to the day later she could run another marathon and she must have been a little underdone (or maybe overdone) to come 4th in Frankfurt. At 15k in Doha, Lonah was 6th: 55sec behind the lead pack. By 25k she had cut it to 16 sec but 5k later it was 49 sec and she was fifth. Gone before 35k.
Turns 31 before the event and is ranked 7 as a road runner. Busy? Here are some highlights:
10 mar half Ostia won 66.40
6 Apr half Prague second 66.09
5 May marathon Prague won 2.19.46
1 sept 10k Tilburg won 30.05
27 sept marathon w/champs-collapsed
27 Oct marathon f/furt fourth 2.23.11

Eleventh should be Stephen Kissa with a best of 60 min flat in Barcelona last Feb. That was his debut after winning over 15k in Nijmegen in 41.49 last November.

The original Kenyan team included Monicah, but now it's Rosemary. Wanjiru is my fourth choice now.
So deep this women’s field: another seven are legitimate chances to finish close. Lots are proud representatives of their nations like Bahrain, Israel, or the Netherlands.
Last for me among the main chances is Zeinaba Yimer with her PB of 65.46 to finish third at RAK last year

Hassan is only 5th for me among the women. I just think the hour WR and now chasing Paula's 30.01.09 this Saturday will take enough out of her in this deep field to drop her to fifth. Remarkable athlete with unbelievable range in distances.
It comes as no surprise that her season is over
Faster than the original course, but weather could hold up the times?

Next could be the man who was 8th last time at these titles. Then next, in Dec 2018, Julien Wanders broke the AR for 10k on the road at Houilles in 27.25. Fourth in 2019 at RAK in 59.13 and third at Valencia this last Jan over 10k in 27.13.
Twelfth lady may be Yalemzerf Yehualaw, the 4th Ethiopian. 6th in Feb at RAK in 66.35 after winning Delhi last Oct in 66.01.
13th man should be Guye Adola, three times sub 60 min. Third in the 2014 version of this in Copenhagen in 59.21.

Third woman could be Dorcas Kimeli, third in Barcelona in January in 67.10 and ranked 7 as a road runner on the basis of that and her second behind Zeinaba Yimer over 15k last June.
Third in the original list we had to 13th now
Eighth to finish could be Amedework Walelegn, 20yo and ranked 20. 8th here last year in 59.39 then only 11th in Istanbul in April as the defending champ. No results since. Also in 2018 was second in Delhi in 59.22, his PB.
This was my bio for RAK this year when he had a DNF. Could be 14th here?

Fifth from the names we have is Stephen Mokoka of South Africa with a best of 59.51 for fourth last year in Buenos Aries
Mokoka is entered but South Africa announced they weren't competing. No Steyn but Xaba is in as well.

Then next lady may be Melat Kejeta of Germany. Following is something i wrote in my Saitama thread.
I thought I might use the extra time to share some thoughts about six women who debuted in marathons this year.
The next is the overrated: Melat Kejeta, talked herself up in the lead-up to Berlin. Was only ranked 95 as a road runner with a best half time of 68.41. Ran sixth in 2.23.57.
Iaaf preview of the women’s was interesting. How are Bahrain not a chance for third among the teams?

Yes. It's going to be cold.
Anyone have any idea how to watch? I don't see it on NBC sports gold and there is nothing on the front page yet.
South Africa is going to be represented by Stephen Mokoka, Precious Mashele, Colleen Mulaudzi and Glenrose Xaba. They have asked for one more late entrance.

Here we go, time on my hands. So Mokoka at 15th, next then Morris Gachaga. Was ranked 14 after fifth at RAK in Feb last year in 59.22 then sixth in Bahrain at night the next month in 60.09.
