How fast should my summer mileage be if I want to run close to 25 for the 8k?
You're asking the wrong questions bud
On a more serious note, there's no real answer anyone on here can give you. Many of my teammates run under 6:00 pace for their runs to run sub 25, sub 24:30, etc. Others, like me, run upwards of 7:00 pace. For reference, I've run under 24 minutes for 8k coming at it more from the 1500/mile. Just go outside and feel good. Log a lot of mileage. The key to running fast in any event is staying consistent in training. Incorporate hills into your training, whether that means hill repeats or hilly runs. Hit some strides after a few runs a week, too. You'll be golden... Good luck.
