Whether he breaks the record or not I would come away thinking "I wonder what would have happened if Barega etc were in that race?".
Couple years ago we had a great race where several players were in the mix, Kejelcha turned the screw and broke the field and then Barega out kicked Kejelcha in the last 200 to a stunning 12:43.
That's what I want to see.

We can consider ourselves blessed if there is any world record attempt every 5 years in the 5000m.....
Having one this year is already good enough. Some people freak out about Jakob running a 4:50 2000m, we should have much more respect for a runner like Cheptegai being willing to face the himalaya during the winter.
