True they don’t, and Biden has apologized for what he did even though harmless black people are currently being put in prison because of the legislation he created. I guess a President who apologizes for robbing black men of their livelihoods is better than one who won’t...
... Or that there is no equivalence between Trump and Biden on race, unless you are arguing that black people are too dumb to spot the difference.
I’m not arguing that, you just leapt to that assumption. From the standpoint of black people who want the most change possible NOW, it actually may make a great deal of sense to vote for Biden as he will not push back against reforms because—like Hillary on gay marriage—he has been dragged reluctantly with the party on the issue of criminal justice. It’s actually pretty funny to read his criminal justice statement on his website; he is trying to put out a fire which he proudly helped create in the 1990s. Anyway, I am a pragmatist and totally resonate with someone who wants to vote Biden for policy and not moral reasons.
But, in terms of who of the two candidates has done more real damage to the black community, I would say Biden and it’s not even close. Real people have lost their lives to the prison system because of the three strikes rule in Biden’s bill. And that’s a damn shame
