That sounds like
*puts on sunglasses*
a real pain in the ass.
But seriously, that's unfortunate. Hopefully it's just a bone bruise or bad muscle bruise. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

hahaha good David Caruso impression, well done JTA
hope you're okay cocoon!
So who is a go for this TT this weekend and what are people targeting?
In other news... I scored a pair of alphaflys today.
OR - Thanks for the check-in and the shoutout. I’m sorry to hear that you are still struggling with those lingering issues, but I bet it felt great to sneak in that nice little flyer. Between the pandemic and this awful heat and humidity, I’m not in any rush to jump back into the swing of things just yet. But as Arnold likes to say, I’ll be back. Happy 4th to you and the family.
I'm a go. Shooting for 5:40 - 5:50. Slow by board standards, but what can ya do?
OR: Hope you'll be back on top of the world sooner rather than later.
cocoon: I was trying to think of something cheeky to say, but I couldn't come up with anything. Get better!
TT News: This just in... I'm not. Good luck to all you inTTrepid compeTTiTTors.
Stone - You’re darn right it felt good. It felt so good that I just did it again...the same way I did Sunday—tired after work...slightly faster this time...
4.5 at 6:24 overall...6:47, 6:33, 6:15, 6:08, 3:04
Upper hammy/glute is sore, but not too bad. If I go down, I will go down swinging.
A very fine fourth to you and your family, my friend.
JTA. Lance. Sub 6. RRR.
I have bad memory so anyone else throwing down let me know.
4:52 if it was a perfect day maybe possibly. But the goal is 4:59.99. Anything faster is gravy at this point. With a short sweet low mileage Build after than painfully long layoff. Never raced or TT a mile before. I think my fastest is 5:19 in a 5k
Thanks very much, Coach Jeff. All the best to you, my friend.

Yeah I've run a bit quicker in the past.
Haha. Nice understatement. Like 5:17/mile for 26.2 miles. That’s just a bit quicker...
I was starting to wonder if nobody else realized who this is Haha. "Minor injury in February" = had to drop out of the OLYMPIC MARATHON TRIALS due to injury. But you know, details...

Hey OR, good to know you can still get out there and crank some quick miles. I tried to do the same last night, not as quick as you, and not easy, either, after many months taken off, and 30 extra pounds put on.
4.0 miles -- 10:26, 9:46, 9:40, 9;48.
Knees felt ok for first three miles, then not so good, and the pain interrupted my sleep afterwards. Still, gonna make an effort to get out a few times a week, lose some weight. Have a good weekend, enjoy the Fourth.
Hi to everyone else, good to see Coach Jeff back at it, and good luck RRR in your one-mile time trial. Hard to believe it's been two years since my last 1-mile track race. Really miss being fit and competitive. Don't take anything for granted, friends.

Come on people! This isn't just for glory, but also for AMERICA*

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I won’t argue the merits here, but terrible timing as I sip many Budweisers (full calories) in honor of the birth of this imperfect nation that is not without its many, many merits.
Allen!! Great to see you here. Thanks for the well wishes and have a great Fourth. What is on the agenda? Menu?
It has been a struggle for me, but I have not given up. The fast runs are too enjoyable and I must fight on. Hopefully, they will get faster and longer. Will see...
Hey Allen! Nice to see ya!!!! Yeah, I hope to have a few more years left in me ?. Sounds like you've got a little bit left in ya, too. Be healthy!

Smoove and the giraffe may not always see eye to eye (literally(, but if there's one thing we agree on is that our country, the United States of America, is definitely not trash. It was founded nearly 250 years on bedrock principles that have stood the test of time: rights to life, to liberty, to the pursuit of happiness, to be treated equally, to have a voice in how we are governed, to due process of law, to be judged by a jury of our peers, to worship and speak freely, to a form of government in which no single person or branch can control us. The list goes on.
Our ancestors and our brothers and sisters have fought and died for these inalienable rights both here and abroad against those who would seek to destroy them. Countless Americans have paid the ultimate sacrifice so that you can live in a country that is widely recognized and admired as the greatest and most powerful country of our time. We are certainly not all perfect, but in the grand scheme of things, we got it pretty dang good.
This brief exchange reminded me of this clip.

Not going to lie AJ... I too love this country but claiming that, at this moment, America is widely admired as the greatest country on earth is not supported by much empirical evidence.

In fact, it is nearly impossible to find any survey, study etc. that supports this stance.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say we are trash but it upsets me deeply that we can have the greatest military and largest economy this planet has ever seen and miss the mark so badly on the very basic societal elements that humans seem to broadly value.

Ummm...
Just so you know.
Both articles refer to the same "survey."
Designed by one guy.
Based on his own criteria.
Happy B'Day USA.
