gerry lindgren wrote in his book that the fingers of his right and left hand could touch each other when he put them on his waist. it probably had way more to do with genetics than under-eating, he mustve ate a lot with that high mileage i suspect.

You need raw speed to be successful at any distance. I have all my HS athletes run the 4x4 and look For girls under 62 and guys under 52 as a baseline for the speed needed to be successful in the 1600 or 3200.
Can Scott Fauble, 4th in the 10,000 meters at the last OT, even run a 52 in the 400 meters?

What are the signs of talent? How are you supposed to know if you have talent?
You run fast times, show high adaptability to the stress of trainig, suffer few injuries, and inherently have very good running mechanics.
If a 15 year old kid runs a 4:50 mile off little training and then goes to a 4:20 mile after a year of training, that a representation of talent.

I can't do that. There is a small gap when I try to do that

Can most D1 runners do that?

He's been running from sexual assault and rape allegations, allegations of fraud, countless lawsuits and treason.
He's been running and running and running.
Very talented.

So I have no talent?

There are a couple ways to find out even if you don't run regularly. fill you mouth with water and run a mile all out without swallowing the water, if its under 6 mins you have talent. Another way I have seen in my years is body type, super scrawny but still strong enough lets to run up a hill. You can have talent as a fatty but neither of these test will work. You have to shed the weight before you can discover the potential.
I am already 6'0'' and 150 Ib

There are billions of people in the world. Their runnining talent is measured in a bell shaped curve. So what level of talent are you asking about? I am guessing you want to know about the 1%. That group can run sub 5 for a mile in 8th grade. That group can run sub 4:20 while in high school. On the other end are people like you. You are in the bottom 10%. What was your ACT score? The scores also form a bell shaped curve.
That is depressing. I hate my life.

To be successful in high school in the 1600 or 3200 you don't nee sub 52 speed. I ran sub 9:30 in indoor and I've never broken 58. It's up to you if you consider 9:30 successful, but you don't need good 400 speed to run a decent 3200.

There are thousands of other runners. We can't all be winners.
But running is not only about talent.
You can get health benefits and the "runner's high".

There is no such thing as the "ability" to stay injury-free.
There are those who ignore the pain and hobble through, and those who skip workouts because they have some "pain." The difference is how much motivation and commitment they have. Your "injury" would go away if you ignore it long enough.

Assuming most people can tell this is a joke but there’s enough idiots on this site that I’ll clarify, don’t just run through every injury.

I wish people didn't joke about stuff that can ruin your ability to run.
Why are you not going to a highly selective school for free? You are getting caught in your lies.
