I know, I know, you guys don't like people claiming they will run much faster than what they actually do (to put your mouth on times your feet can't reach), but I have time to train and weight to lose so I think it's not impossible, may be too hard, but not impossible.
Now the case is, I really fear running a good time just to get out kicked at the end, as it will be my first track race, and I really have no experience on how things really works there, so I was thinking about training to kick too.
And when it comes to kicking, that seems to be the ultimate workout, analyzing it, it seems to come down to a 6x 800m with the 1st lap a little slower than 5k pace and the 2nd lap a little slower than 800 pace with unknown recovery (couldn't find it).
Do you guys think it's worth to try this workout or should I wait a few more years? Or am I being delusional just to think about finishing this workout (building up to it, of course, and with whatever rest is necessary)? And how would be the best way to implement this workout?
