Dire ran 18517m in 2008. Also won Boston Marathon that year.

So the record is about 68:20 1/2 marathon pace. Shouldn’t be a problem if these two are fit. Yeshaneh’s half marathon record works out to about 19620m/ hour. Happy to hear about this race but wishing a couple more top talents could get it on it.

Early in 2009, Tune won the half in RAK in 67.18, 9th AT to that point behind:
the then holder of the world's best, Lornah Kiplagat
the old world mark of Ingrid Kristiansen
Elana Mayer
Paula Radcliffe
Mary k's 2007 mark of 66.48
Esther Maina
Lornah K's 66.56 from 2000
and Edith Masai.
Birhane won Copenhagen half last year as Kamworor took all the accolades there. Ababel ran Kosgei off her feet at RAK early this year in a new WR for the half.

I'm thinking Birhane might cause an upset and both break the old mark
