The previous all time women's record was 60. She's got a ways to go to reach the all-time human record as Ricardo Abad did it for 607 days in a row.

I thought that a marathon was a race and not just distance.
???
Does Sandra Villines’ North American Transcontinental World Record enter into this discussion? She averaged 57mi/day covering 3127 miles in 69 days.
I guess it partly depends on whether you're willing to pay Guinness World Records fees to get a nice certificate as well as any costs for adjudication / evidence etc.

60 can't have been a record for a long time.
Lorna Michael who did the Trans Am race in 1993 had already 64 days and most were a lot longer than just a marathon.
But Guinness never checks anything.

Sandra Villines ran under 55 days.

According to IG, I see a bunch of runners saying "I just ran my 8th half marathon in a row" after doing eight long runs of 13.1 miles or more.

Okay, thanks.
What pace is she doing these at? With enough free time any decent runner could run a marathon a day if they went slow enough. This is what ultra runners are often all about - going kind of far, but not as far as they could and hyping up the slow paces they train at.
This appears to be right since there are a few women who have run a marathon every day for a year. This woman from Denmark did it, but decided not to record her achievement with the Guinness Book of World Records:
https://www.fredskovmarathon.dk/about-366-marathons-in-365-days/
Her times:
Around the turn of the millennium, Guinness Book of World Records went from a nerdy pair of twins with incredible power of recall, researching, compiling and publishing a list of human achievements
into
Guinness World Records - a money-making enterprise where you pay to come up with some category of your own choosing and then call it a world record. See Ashrita Furman as exhibit A with his 700 records broken. Wikipedia lists his latest as "Most watermelons self-chopped in a minute on the stomach"

Yeah imagine posing for that picture and being proud of it. Wow.

Crippled in waiting....
So she's run 180 mpw for 12 weeks in a row. Wasn't that pretty standard training for some marathoners back in the 70's?
This is stupid. Shame on LRC for even starting this thread. She’s not running marathons.

You've got to ask yourself.....WHY?
Job?
Family?
Charity?
Self-fulfillment?
Crazy?
Anything?
All of the above?
Definitely an awesome feat of endurance but at the same time WHY? To use that much time and energy every day and to subject yourself to physical and mental stress seems excessive. What is she accomplishing?
Hmmmmm........."Go Run One"

You thought wrong
Annette Fredskov ran 366 marathons in 365 days after being diagnosed with M.S. Look it up, crazy story.

"I just ... felt like running" - Forrest Gump
Truth to that. One year I did a indoor kart racing record. Paid the fees, jumped through the thousands of loop holes just to get a certificate. The guy i took the record from ended up taking it back and once again I rebroke his, this time i did it as a fundraiser for a friend who was severely hurt in an motorcycle accident. Not recognized by Guinness, but the guy who "holds it" now, recognizes the accomplishment. Guinness is a hoax.
