Ignorant comment. Pantani was struck by that SUV driver in 1995, early in his career when he was at the peak of his powers. He had finished third in the TdF earlier that season and won the Best Young Rider jersey, and he also finished third in the World Championships. If he was doing blow at all at the point in his life it sure wasn't hurting his training or racing, and had nothing to do with slowing his recovery from massive orthopedic injuries.
