Clout? Isn’t that what Tinman is all about? They care more about clout than race results.

Yes but can you coach 3 out of 5 good runner to PRs? 4 out of 5?

Why do people think Tinman is a bad coach? He has coached a lot of runners to PRs. From what I have seen about his philosophy and training it all seems pretty similar to what other top coaches do.
I've coached myself to PRs! But I don't brag about the superiority of my training philosophy or put others' training styles down. I also don't charge 2 hundo a month for coaching. And I do not have a group of fanboys referring to me in godlike terms.
If you're loud, people are gonna ask what all the fuss is about. If there's nothing to fuss over, people are gonna be like "wtf you're a salesman"

lmaooo alright fair, you got me there
Lol, I side with Brandt. He’s a blue collar, gritty runner and he’s just calling out the clout boys on their sh!t.
I am not taking any sides here! Rob has the times and performances to talk the talk and walk the walk, he’s done the work. Only a few tinman guys have done anything in college and it’s great that they get a second chance, in a 1v1 I pick rob winning it! However based of last xc season where UCLA was ranked #10 in the country and chocked and went home devastated. Rob was hurt and it shows how bad the ucla is but how valuable rob is

Breaking news!!!! Drew Hunter responds again
Drew—-“Robert Brandt do we have a rivalry with you? I’m so confused haha. Tinman elite has never spoken out against Robert Brandt. In fact we have spoken highly about your gutsy racing. Sucks that you put people down. All the best, because I always give people the benefit of the doubt. “
Robs response “ I guess now we do! Just stirring the pot man. If anything this has brought some unexpected publicity to a very boring time in track and field. Can’t wait to hash it out on the track. Best of luck ?”
I heard that in order to smooth things over, Brandt offered to rabbit them all through their next race and slap them on the butt for encouragement as they all blow past him in the last 300m. In return those guys will keep referring to him as "gritty."
Drew would hands down mop the floor with Brandt in a race. Not really worth his time to play mind games with Brandt on Strava.

If a person really doesn't care about clout, it wouldn't bother them to see others getting it.

Interesting that you say that about the professor, but that simply cannot be, as I just had lunch with him at Dorsia last Friday. Now good day to you Sir.

There’s nothing Blue Collar about running collegiately, especially if you’re Robert Brandt. Dude went to UCLA and is now going to Georgetown, presumably on a full ride (I presume he had the same at UCLA). Both of those colleges have better facilities than 99.9% of post-collegiate athletes have access too and if you’re a full ride athlete you’re getting access to these for free. I run at a D2 on scholarship and I have access to better facilities then Pros I know back in the UK. Yeah UCLA & Georgetown might be academically demanding but not to the point where it impacts performance based on the consistent high level collegiate performances both programs churn out.
Well this is America mate not the UK, every america is blue collar that’s what makes us the best country in the world

Rob says “I don’t know what it is but I wanna crush the Tinman guys like a ball of Tinman foil. Maybe it’s their overt confidence and then proceeding to finish in the bottom third of every elite field they enter. See you guys in the spring!”
Drew Hunter responds like a baby “ Robert Brandt dude. You hurt my feelings. Why do you have to be hateful just to be hateful? Being 100% serious. Regardless of our performances, we’ve done a lot of good for the sport. And I am sad that you can’t see that. Hope you’re happy putting people down. ”
I agree with Brandt 100% and I lost respect for Drew Hunter with his pathetic response.
Just three days ago a friend of mine texted me a video of the guys from Tinman doing a workout and asked “who are these guy?”
I’ll let you all know when any of my friends ask me about Robbie.

So they have a youtube channel, who cares? Maybe if they spent more time training instead of making crappy TV, they'd have better results.
The point is that a lot more people care about one than the other. So that’s who cares.
Wait I've been trying to find the comments and can't find them. Which account is this fight on?
This is JV Chelimo vs Lomong
It’s on Robert Brandt’s strava
I'll toss my hat in here in support of TME. Earlier in the thread, people were saying they don't bring anyone new into the sport. I would say that TME elite was a big part of what brought me into the sport. I was a basketball player all my life and then started to jog after college. This time last year I had been jogging 15-35 mi/wk for a couple years and logging 4 hr + marathons. I stumbled upon TME instagram and started to learn about real running. The first race time I watched a track race was to see Drew compete at the USATF championships. They led me to start reading more about proper training and eventually led me to this god-forsaken corner of the internet. Now I'm a veritable track fan and TME isn't even my favorite group. But they were certainly a big part of what brought me into the sport. I think regardless of their results, they are a huge positive for the sport of running.
