Hey all. I've been running seriously for less than a year, got really into running last september, and I severely underestimated the effect the heat and humidity would have on my pace. I live in coastal virginia so it's 85 degrees with 90%+ humidity every day, and it's kicking my ass. I'm super frustrated with my inability to finish easy runs, even early in the morning, and need advice on how to run more efficiently in the summer. Back in march/april I could go for an hour at 6:30 pace fairly comfortably, but this week I've been struggling to stay under 7:20 without having to stop for a breather every mile. Is it normal for the weather to have such a severe impact on running? I feel like I'm getting in worse shape by the day, and can't tell if I can attribute it completely to the swampy weather.
