"I didn't run for a month due to an illness and, to my shock, a month of being completely sedentary has caused me to lose fitness! Clearly this is because my lungs were permanently damaged. Truly, this is a horrific disease!"
3 months later he still isn't back to full fitness? So he'd fully recovered and returned to training by March? So he was probably the first person in the country to get the virus? Oh wait... he's lying.

Hi, I’m the person you’re calling a liar.
I was symptomatic March 11- March 27. I wasn’t the first person in the country to get the virus, nor am I lying.
It is 3 days shy of 3 months since I recovered.
I am still running 45 seconds to 1 minute slower on my runs. I ‘feel’ completely normal otherwise, no other symptoms, no shortness of breath throughout the day, no noticeable fatigue, I work out with dumbbells and do strength training just fine. I can even sprint the same.
But my runs do not feel the same and it has been 3 months. I’ve taken MONTHS off of running before, usually during winter, and it has never taken me longer than a few weeks or a month at most to get back to training pace.
Do with that information what you want, I don’t give a f*** what you think.
Tell me about it. A strep infection got to my heart as a child, seriously damaged the tricuspid valve, required seven years of treatment and it's the reason I became a lifelong runner. I'm at the high risk age of COV19 now, but if it finds me it'll be in for one hell of a fight!

I don't.
I know two people who caught it, one recovered at home in two days and the other, a very sick person aged 67, recovered in 5 days in hospital.
Both were left with no permanent damage.
The human body is remarkably capable of healing itself. I don't see this as any different than other diseases we have encountered.

I do find it funny that you quote this study endlessly but then also yammer on about "dying with" as opposed to "dying of" Covid. Your complaints about the methodology of Covid death reporting are the exact same as the complaints directed at the JH study.
You read the Hopkins study did you?

I had it. Mid 30s male, excellent shape. Took over two weeks to get over.
I’m STILL not running at the pace I used to run pre-COVID and that was 3 months ago. Idk if I have any ‘lasting damage’ or anything, I feel fine, but I’m still about 45 seconds to a minute slower than my old pace. Not sure what’s up.
Must be mentally weak.

I have quoted it twice. Is that what you call endlessly?
I have never used the term "dying with" Covid so I am not sure how I can be said to be yammering on. I have used the terms I see in the media when inflating Covid death numbers -- linked, related, and presumed.
Pretty sure the Hopkins study did not inflate medical mistake numbers by including linked, related, and presumed deaths due to medical malpractice.
That people would attack the Hopkins study...now there's a shock. Accuse the medical industry of killing hundreds of thousands of Americans with mistakes each year....gee, I would expect no push-back at all. And no doubt all the criticism was independent and unbiased and not funded by the Medical establishment.
And the check is in the mail and Santa is real.

Do as you like.
Let others do as they see fit

Many of us figured out how to do that a long time ago, before this current fiasco ever started.
Hardly fear-mongering. We have over 124,000 dead and cases back up over 36,000 yesterday alone, with deaths moving back up over 800 and likely to climb a lot with the case surge this month. New York's testing really widely and yet not getting a case surge. Today, we're already at 710 deaths and 33,172 new cases. Florida and Texas alone account for over 10,000 new cases today. I'm very glad that deaths have been under 1,000 for a while now, but they're on the way back up. Even with the steroid treatment that reduces deaths among serious cases by 20-30%, the death toll's going to go back way over 1,000 per day shortly, given that cases first went up to totals near this in early April, and within ten days, deaths were running at 2k per day and more.

Giles Corey, why does your metric for belief always seem to be whether anyone on a random online forum knows someone experiencing symptoms? What makes you sure that posters here are even telling the truth? If you don’t believe COVID exists or is dangerous no one is stopping you from going out to rallies, parties or crowded areas and getting sick and/or helping spread the virus.
Yes I did read it.
And sorry, maybe it was Alan (or whoever that other guy is) who kept saying “dying with” covid.
The authors of the Hopkins study point out, rightfully so, that we don’t have a good way to catalogue damage by medical error. It was a great way to highlight this as an issue.
With that said, they counted any “medical error” in the lead up to death as a cause. It rests on the presumption that deaths are preventable, which they often aren’t. For example, a patient who has his ICU transfer delayed by 30-45 minutes and later dies in the ICU has (in the study’s definition) medical error as a cause of death.

Actually, that is fear mongering.
So far there have been many cases attributed to covid19, but ZERO deaths actually verified as being caused by a covid19 virus - because there is no valid test for a covid19 virus - and there has been no test that has even verified that there is a covid19 virus. Never mind that such a virus, which apparently doesn't exist, has ever contributed to anyone's death.
This is a total scam, and anyone who believes it hasn't been seeking for the truth.

I've been doing my best but apparently I'm immune to it and so is everyone that I've seen, heard of, or come into contact with in person and even on the internet. It's almost like the virus doesn't even exist.
In fact it's exactly like that.

You realize no one takes you seriously nor cares about what you say? Your words have no merit. You’ve already proven yourself wrong over and over.
That being said, if you’re just trolling, I’d say you’ve become one of the best ever on Letsrun and I actually salute you.
Intelligent people do, and vice versa.
You're welcome to make your own decisions, just like everyone else.
You will get no response. He just moves onto the next thread when he's proven wrong.
