Fargo in August could be rough, but I’m running the 1/2 either way!
Usually the indoor start/finish is really great, especially on cold mornings where you don't have to stand around in the cold until the race starts. This year, though, the indoor start/finish could be a liability, and there's less need for it in August. Will there be any change in that this year?
Yes' i will be there. Pb is 2:19:21 looking to run under 2:18.
Entered the 10K - don't want to take the risk of a full or half in August, even if it's the only game in town, so to speak. I haven't had a chance to race a flat fast 10K in years, so that's a bonus.
Awesome. Hopefully weather is good and we both can pull away with wins ? Sub 2:18 for me' sub 30 for you?

Sub-2:18 for you, ideally around 38:30 ish or faster for me. As a 46 year old woman, sub 30 would get me a black page on Letsrun…. :)
Oh' sorry about that. 38:30 would be solid and possibly a win as well?

No prob - thought it was funny!
38:30 would normally place well for the women - of course, this may not be a normal day at that race...

Sick...!! Good luck getting that OTQ! When does the window open for the 2024 Trials?
What a glorious super spreader event it will be!
Enjoy participating in the Grand Chain of Transmission!
Thanks Rhodium' the OTQ wont start for another 1.5 years (jan 2022). I just ran a TT half (1:07:01) solo. So am very confident 2:18.

Ah I see. Plenty of time to continue getting faster! You got this!!
I love to see people achieve their running dreams. That's an excellent TT and you can probably go well under 66 in a real race!
Thanks Rhodium'

Would this be a course record if it happened?
Yeah' the current course record is 2:19:5x so yeah would love to be under it.
There will be no use of the Fargo Dome this year. All start and finish activities will be outside in the parking lot. The route is also being adjusted and may not include Morehead, MN as in years past. I’m sure the course will be certified for all those without a 2021 BQ. Corrals of no more than 500 will start in numerous waves. More info on expo, water stops, shuttle busses and post race activities will come in the next few weeks. I’m coming from be mid-Atlantic and booked my plane ticket yesterday, for the second time this year, lol! The race also starts at 7am so temps for all the elite Let’s Run runners will be bearable. See you up there! 50sub4
Good to see an event give it a go.
And, good news concerning outdoor activities and lack of transmission of the virus (vis-a-vis the MN protests):
Hahaha...totally wrong link! But, the new Bronco does look cool

For people who aren't too familiar with the Fargo Marathon, it's a pancake flat, fast course with great community support and organization. I would recommend this race to anybody. However, North Dakota is prone to a heat wave in late August just about every year, and no one would be surprised to see a high temperature of 90-100 degrees on the day of the Fargo Marathon. With that said, it's just as likely the high temperature is in the 70s and you could wake up to mid 40s. If you're looking for a BQ, this is a great course for it. If you're looking for an OTQ, this would be a great course, but competition historically is lacking, with most years only having a couple men under 2:30 and a couple women under 2:50.
