And yet they will keep every holocaust camp building etc intact as a historic site using the remembrance as to not let history repeat. WTF. Hypocrisy all around

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) must change their name!
Some brown skin people say it's racist to call the Colored People.

If you think Trump has any chance of getting re-elected after the debacle of 2020, you've been smoking too much colorized high fructose corn syrup. Nothing anyone does or does not do will save his sorry ass from his own ineptitude. Seriously, you'd have to be hugely ignorant to still support this guy after so many f@#k ups.
Nope - he will have more support than ever. Covid is not his fault (even Beijing is on lockdown now!). Minneapolis and Atlanta burning down are not his fault. (the last republican mayor of Atlanta was in 1879). A few blocks of Seattle being annexed by a warlord is not his fault (anyone who has visited Seattle in the last 10 years could have easily predicted this, personally I'm a bit surprised more hasn't happened in Portland).
20 years from now corporate america will be scolded because they only use young attractive white women to promote products, and that older nature black women arent given proper recognition.
We will hear the same thing about the police, why are poor primarily black cities so poorly policed...,..
I think this may be the real history of Aunt Jemima:

What a crazy country this has become!
What some feel is an honorable recognition, others feel is racist!?!?
It would be interesting to see the demographics of who actually purchased the most of that brand of syrup, and if anyone ever didn't buy it based on who was shown on the bottle...
What ethnic background is Mrs. Buttersworth? Has anyone ever even worried or wondered about that, and why should we?

Crazy, indeed! And sad, too. Yes, knowing the demographics would be interesting to know, or just creating a public survey would provide some insight.
No clue about Mrs. Butterworth haha Personally, I’m a weirdo and purchase only sugar free syrup LOL. I don’t care what the bottle looks like, only the content.
An oppressed pine ???
I read a different article with quotes from the great-grandson. It sounded like he wasn't related to the original "Aunt Jemima" from the late 1800s, he was related to her replacement when she died in the 1920s. His great-grandmother became the new real-life "Aunt Jemima", and I guess the image is based on her.
At any rate, his position is confusing. It sounds like he's simultaneously made at Quaker Oats for removing her image, but also mad at them for using her image in the first place. I guess he wants them to continue using her face but give him money or something.
As others have alluded to, no one saw the image as anything racist except for an extremely small minority who are somehow predisposed to see racism and other social transgressions everywhere they look. It was an image of warmth and caring, a mother happy to provide for her family by making them pancakes. It was good, wholesome marketing.
This has nothing to do with my own personal views of Trump. I'm not saying these issues are enough to tip the scales in his favor -- there are a million other reasons why people might choose to vote for Biden over Trump -- but it doesn't help Biden's cause.
Not to change the subject too much, but I'm curious how much to trust the polls. I feel like now more than ever the secret Trump supporter could be an important factor. Those who support Trump might not even be willing to admit it to anonymous pollsters. But, if Biden's reported lead is big enough, then I guess it won't matter if some Trump supports are being dishonest or not responding altogether.
I found his position a bit confusing as well, but my take on it is he is proud that his great grandmother was the second Aunt Jemima, and the original face of the syrup, but upset that Quaker used her pancake mix and excluded her descendants from receiving royalties. And now he is extra jaded due to the fact that not only have they withheld royalties from using her pancake mix recipe, but now they are erasing her legacy from the syrup bottle. I think we are all in agreement that Aunt Jemima should stay. I agree, it was good, wholesome marketing with a neat backstory.
I admit that I buy the syrup. I like the "butter lite" version. I guess I never thought about the racial aspect. From a marketing standpoint, it was always easy to find on the shelf. All the other brands look alike.
Growing up, my favorite cartoon was "Fat Albert". You can find it on youtube. Bill Cosby hosted the show and probably did all the voices. Calling a black kid fat is probably racist as well. I wonder if youtube will pull all the cartoons. Those who have never seen it should check it out. Cosby was great and there was always a life lesson in the story.

Wasn't Bill Cosby in some kind of trouble recently?
Jemima is a DRUG CHEAT!!!! Glad they finally took her off the bottle.

OMG I loved Fat Albert!
Leftists are the problem. They push political correctness out of an emotional reaction.
There's nothing wrong with having a Black woman as a representative of the brand.
