Raicst brand is expected to change name.
Raicst brand is expected to change name.
So... I wonder what the new name will be and who will find an issue with it?
Who's next? Uncle Ben?
This company, years ago when society was MUCH more racist than it is now, made the strategic business decision (which I'll bet was ridiculed and criticized at the time as being BAD for business) to put an image of a friendly black woman on its product to sell MORE of the product. So at least we know the initial business decision wasn't with racist intent.
Personally, I never buy the syrup because Aunt Jemima looks fat, and I can't stand fat people. They need to put Halle Berry on that stuff if they want me to I buy it.
Never bought it not because of the image on the label simply there are syrups that taste better
These companies are dumb. Their identity will be lost along with market share.
If you're not buying pure maple syrup, you're just cheap.
Once you have the pure maple syrup, you'll never go back to the cheap syrup . The taste is simply that much better.
yup. they are basically starting a new brand from scratch. they will LOSE a lot of money on this. up your stock in mrs butterworth's NOW!

They should change it to Mr. Kaepernick's
What took them so long?
There are a lot of reasons I laugh at this, but one of them is the irony that these sorts of actions (along with ones like "defund/disband the police") are spearheaded by people who hate Trump, yet it only serves to help Trump get reelected. No one who was on the fence is going to see these headlines and decide to go for Biden. But there are plenty of people who might be undecided who say "Jesus Christ, what's wrong with these people, can we all stop being so hysterical and irrational" and will vote for Trump. Rightly or wrongly, they see him as not caving to the mob and acting as a check on the cancel culture types that create these fake controversies left and right.
I'd also be curious how often black people in this era bought Aunt Jemima products or saw them on the shelves and ever had a single thought about racism or prejudice. My guess is few to none. No reasonable person would think so: they see a smiling, happy woman who likes making pancakes for her family. Nothing malicious about it. But then someone comes along and tries to stir up these controversies where none existed in the first place.
why cant every girl be more like Alexa Bliss? wrote:
Great, hopefully they will make it Aunt Alexa Bliss. I'd lick that syrup from that bottle every day! Never understood why anyone would want syrup from some obese, welfare queen looking fool. Lets make the next great Syrup icon white!
When I said progress is slow, I meant sort of a two steps forward, one step back kind of deal. You’re the one step back, you anonymous internet racist who would never say these things in public but are so brave to type them here.
Never knew why anyone would want syrup that's just colorized High Fructose Corn Syrup.
Don't shed a tear for the racist Aunt Jemima, shed a tear for the foods we no longer have.

End of thread.
I agree with the notion of slow progress, however, though you make think that liberal ideology is is in fact progressive, it is not. Open up some history books. It never ends well.
