now that travel to other european countries is allowed, does anyone have any ideas where would be a good place to train? I'm thinking somewhere with altitude, and not too expensive to stay in youth hostels.
let me know your tips.

You might want to fresh up your geography skills of Europe.
There is no place in Europe were people live in significant altitude.
And usually youth hostels are not in mountain resort towns but there might be one exception somewhere.
There's a web site that compares them. Too lazy to Google it myself.
The two spots that occur to me, off the top of my head, are Font Romeu, in the French Pyrenees. It's the French national centre with great equipment. They have live-in accommodation that is not expensive (by my standards), but you could certainly find a cheaper option. The 2nd idea is the Sierra Nevada in southern Spain. That's a national center too. Similar deal to Font Romeu. I don't know it so well. There is also a swanky Swiss ski resort, I forget which one (Saint Moritz?), where Mo Farah and others go, but it is unbelievably expensive.

A "European" who uses "fresh up" and doesn't know what he's talking about. Those LetsRun trolls never let you down.

this is wrong
Font Romeu and Saint Moritz are two famous place where a lot of top level athletes train and sometime even live all year long. Paula Radcliffe owned a house in Font Romeu.
You have a 400 synthetic track there, a sport complex with pool, gym sauna etc, possiblity to do runs on nice flat trails at 2000m atltitude. I don't know about the price though. I think there is an all inclusive option with bed, food and access to all sport facilities for something very reasonable.
And I'm sure there are many other less famous places.
Font Romeu is 1700-1800 meters high
St. Moritz is about the same. I would not call 6000 ft altitude.
At least St. Moritz has a Youth hostel but Switzerland is super expensive
And a European who uses "fresh up" might be just a sign that English is just one of many European languages.
And I just looked up the price for a night in the St. Moritz Youthhostel
It's 48 Swiss Francs for one night next year in July in a 4 bed dorm.
That's $50.60!

If you want to stay in the European Alps for a little cheaper try the Italian Dolomites or Austria.
Go with Sondre Moen to Sestriere. 2000 meters above sea level.
Found a cheap one. Belmeken in Bulgaria.
At 2000m. No running track here, though.
Kuehtai in Austria, 2000+ meters with ability to go higher.
Track available. Cheap.
