I've been running pretty consistently for the last year or two with most weeks in the 40-50 mpw range. More recently, since late March, my weekly mileage has been 45, 56, 65, 50, 68, 64, 68, 57, 57, 58, 63, but will probably only hit about 42 this week for reasons mentioned below. A typical week consists of 1-2 harder days (including 1 long run usually at hard effort) with the rest easy runs. Only singles, no doubles. Long runs have been typically 12-15 miles.
The past week or two, I've been struggling with a hamstring strain that I can force myself to run through if needed, but it only seems to get worse the harder or farther the effort is. Also have just been generally fatigued throughout the day lately, which is odd because I've been capable of running 60+ mile weeks without much of a problem. Some days it feels like a chore just to get up and run an easy 6 miles. The only big difference I can think of is that the weather has gotten a bit hotter and more humid, but I wouldn't expect the effects to be this drastic.
Anyone else going through something similar or experienced this before? Really appreciate any thoughts or insight.
