They wouldn't dare try another lockdown! You saw what happened with the police brutality protests - people just threw that physical distancing nonsense out the window. People aren't going to fall for this a second time around. Besides, there will be more protests and gatherings for George Floyd this fall and any attempt to enforce physical distancing by the police isn't going to happen in the climate we now have with defunding the police. Lol.
Golfing and single person sailing/surfing should be o.k. Football, soccer, basketball, track and field, running are off limits.
Who is going to enforce the lockdown if we defund the police?
Isn’t the NBA resuming on July 31st in Orlando?

See ya'll in 2021, maybe.
Today, NC, FL and AZ posted over 5,000 new cases. The three states have a total population of just under 30 million. Germany, Spain and Italy had just over 800 new cases today. Their combined population is around 180 million. The US is failing miserably at its coronavirus response. The hard work states in the North East and West Coast have done to contain the virus is going to be destroyed by southern states that have opened too early. The fall is going to be a disaster in the US. We are going right back into the barrel and will have not choice but to have a lengthy lockdown. Health systems in the South are already under stress and we are just beginning to see the effects of the early reopening.
CA officials basically said they aren't going back into lockdown:
I think a second one is just politically intractable. We had our chance, the feds and state govts largely blew it.
If you're in your 50s and fit, get ready. Very soon you will be among the oldest Americans.
A. We should never have shut down in the first place.

Yes, they basically said that.
But no, that does not make it so. The virus will largely determine what happens. IF there is a large surge in the fall 10x as bad as the one 3 months ago then there WILL be another lock down.
I have no idea if such a surge will occur but it does not strike me as outside the realm of the possible.

A staggering statistic.
I don't believe that there will be general lockdowns of whole states. People simply will not stand for it. However, certain sectors will lock down when the expected fall increase in cases occurs, and first among those sectors is education. University administrators are the most risk-averse people on the planet and their faculty are largely supportive of lockdowns. I predict that most of the colleges and universities that try to open this fall with at least partly in-person classes will surrender and go back to fully online before the semester is halfway over. And, presumably, all college sports will be cancelled.

In summary:
Blue states - good!
Red states - bad!
But Church will be in session even though my kids won't be able to attend school. Good thing we have our priorities straight in this country.

So what? Those people were going to die someday anyways. We are all going to die.
Many people aren't going to approve of further lockdowns after seeing local governments and the media give liberal rioters an exemption from them.
