3:55 and a 54 last lap. He needs to be sub 3:50 at 1600m to have a shot at El G's record.
5 laps well under 60 seconds a lap. Christ. Massive power output.

You can tell the people who didn't watch the broadcast.
Jakob ran his race in Oslo in the pristine whiteness of a castle-like setting with fake fans cut out of cardboard in support. A pure first-world privileged event.
The Kenyans ran in Nairobi, at a mile high of altitude in a torrential downpour and wind storm. If you noted, They went through 1200m identically (Jakob/Tim) and Tim fell off once by himself in the most depressing of racing conditions. Tim was obviously slightly embarrassed at his time at the end.
But Cram put it best: the purpose of athletics is to race one another, mano a mano, so you don't have such a lopsided competition.
Also, why would Warholm's performance even count if there were no other competitors? Was that rule waived? And we complain about Brynn Brown's time trial. Warholm is an absolute freak, by the way. The opening 80m of his run is insane. He absolutely psyches himself up to greatness. Love it.

Only 7 secs slower than El G's wr. And what were people saying about how he could take the records from the 1500-5k?
You do realize that Jakob has not broken 3:30 at 1500m or 3:51 in the mile yet. Were you really thinking that he could break El G’s WR?
He did break Cram’s ER. Cram has a PB of 3:46 at the mile (ER). He is also faster than Farah (who has a best of 5:06). Farah has the 1500m ER of 3:28.8.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen fangirlsare excited because he sets an OK time in an event that nobody care about.
When he come back in real meeting with real competitions and run real events he will lose again as usual.
So the weather was racist? LOL
He is 19 years old. You expect runners to stay at the same level in their early 20s as when they were teens? If that is true, the US would have nobody under 13:20 in the 5k.

It was actually only 5.2x seconds slower than El G. How did you get it all the way to 7 seconds slower? You somehow managed to increase the actual difference in time by over 30% ...
The thread said Ingebrigtsen ran 4.51. Reading must also be hard for you. So the correct time was 4.50.1. Impressive - but at that distance still a long way from El G's 4.44.79. More EPO needed.
Wow. How to admit you were wrong.
Class act
They also had the advantage of Wave Light Technology for pacing. Pretty cool pacing tech. But that is certainly not new. They had that technology and used it for the indoor Pro Track circuit back in the 70's.

LMAO. I like watching anyone who is fast and ballsy. Is being a fan of an athlete a bad thing these days?

I was going on what the thread said. Still doesn't change the picture. I can't see Ingebrigtsen getting near El G's records.
BTW, show us how you admit you are wrong. Didn't think so.

There is another thread that postulates Ingebrigtsen will take all the records from 1500-5k. Can't see it.
Note that 4:50 for 2K is equivalent to 3:47 for the mile. He is likely in sub-3:30 shape right now.
Tim in top shape at sea level can run 3:33-34/1:13 for a 4:46-47 2000m. He ran the equivalent of 4:55 (NCAA altitude conversion) off of a month of farming and a month of training with a suicidal 55 opening. Jakob was able to run 4:50 flat with a first lap of 59 and 1600m in just 3:55. He could surely go out three seconds faster (58s, getting him to 1M at about 3:53.5) and still close well with competition. Maybe he can hit 4:47-48 in the next couple years. More importantly, let's see him go 3:29 this year, maybe even high 3:28. August 14 in Monaco could be his shot.

And no Timmy is not beating Jakob in a 2000. Will likely never again beat him in a 1500 either.
Says who? Cheriuyot's 5:03 2k was set in less than ideal condition with wind and rain, at close to 6,000 ft elevation, and coming from 2 months of farming and barely any training. I think that says alot

I'd honesty rather see him focus his training on the 5k and run mid 12:4x. It's very hard to do both.

I am not wrong. You got caught in a mistake and replied in part "Reading must also be hard for you." Pathetic

Speaking of pathetic, aren't you normally to be found on threads denying the Covid pandemic? (as well as indulging in your frothing anti-Semitic diatribes.)

The thing as the age of 8 Jakob was training like a well coached American 16 year old. He’s well ahead of the game, so he might not get much faster. Most don’t natural develop anymore in their 20s. He likely is near his max imo.

As opposed to imbeciles like you who STILL don't realize it was a preplanned event backed up by false statistics and fake news.

Conspiracy nutjob alert. You even find your way on to a thread about Jakob Ingebrigsten.
Meanwhile, more than 112,000 Americans who have died of COVID in a little over 3 months are "fake statistics" from a "pre-planned event". You are certifiable.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
