I'm currently training for a 5k TT and i'm setting up my 10 week training plan as i've been running base for the last 3 months. After a lot of research however i'm still stumped as to how to structure my interval sessions throughout the plan. Is there a standard philosophy to help me decide my repetition lengths and rest periods? So for example do i start off with 400m then transition to 800m reps then miles? Or just mix it up throughout the training plan? And do i start off with longer rest periods and gradually shorten them or what? I know different length rest periods make the sessions have a different purpose but some practical advice would be useful.
