No, special distance, so he did it to be able to use his best foot.

there is 50m to the first hurdle in 300m hurdles as opposed to 35 in the 400m, so you simply don't have the space to accelerate as much in the 400m....
Rojo can you ask your technical support if I should be concerned about the warnings from McAfee that keep targeting your web page? My Mom is worried. What content on your site is coming from dangerous or suspicious sites?
No splits on the live results website.
And they list the team event as 2 races (I can understand that logic, but it would nice to have the two races in the same window, providing live splits so we can compare if we cannot watch!)
Not a special distance to the hurdles. It is the same distance to the hurdles as 400mH but it is not around a corner. Perhaps that was a difference. However, why were there only 7 hurdles in the race? A standard 300mH race has 8 hurdles. Not sure how this can be a WR.
weather in kenya was terrible.
Weather+altitude made it an unfair battle. THe Kenyan had no chance.
Well done Jakob for the ER!
Jakob 4:50.01 european record
henrik 4:53
filip 4:56 after his 1000 an hour ago
kenyans way behind...5:03 for cheruiyot and 5:18 for manangoi. dnf for melly
3, 2, ...
Did Jakob just get 7th all time? Just behind Ngeny?
What would be an altitude conversation for Tim's time at sea level?

And the Norwegians had the pacing lights.
LOL talk about an unfair race.
Jakob on a different level to the rest of the world now.
I made that the fastest 2000m since 2001.
Same distance in between hurdles in both distances, but longer to the first.. ( as you can't do 7,5 hurdles (75% of the normal 10))

And wouldn't it have to be in a race? With other runners involved, to be considered a WR?
That last lap looked painful for the Kenyans.

Yeah, level of weather, technology and altitude.

weather in Nairobi right now is 63 and lightly raining, 5 mph wind. that's not that bad
weather in Oslo is 76 with 6 mph wind. an improvement for a 2000m race but not perfect by any means
According to this he's just a head of Noah for 6th all time. WOW. https://www.worldathletics.org/records/all-time-toplists/middle-long/2000-metres/outdoor/men/senior?regionType=world&page=1&bestResultsOnly=true&firstDay=1899-12-31&lastDay=2020-06-10

You are thinking of United States High School 300-meter hurdles.
Are they not showing the 25k?
