120,000 American deaths called covid linked, related, presumed.
94% of whom had at least two life threatening conditions.
How many of those 120,000 would be alive today with no Covid?
Maybe 12?
Honestly - I can’t work out if you are being purposely obtuse or you are that unaware.
Surely this is hyperbole?
If not, let’s use one of the favourite let’s run arguments on this post - “But how many people do you know with COVID/who have died of COVID” etc etc
How many people do you know with a pre existing health condition or who are over 70? Now honestly answer how many of them do you think will be dead within the week? How many of them would be dead within the month? How many of them would be dead within the year? If you’re completely honest, the answer will be a small percent.
I would estimate I know 250 people in this category. I can honestly say that not one of them is about to die imminently. Not my 83 year old mother who had bypass surgery a few years back, not the 90 year old ex marathon runner I know and not my 56 year old husband who has had 2 heart attacks and is diabetic. I can comfortably estimate they all have a minimum of 5 years left, and an average of 10-15 years of good life to lead. I can also comfortably estimate that 150+ of them would die within the month if they had COVID. Modern medicine and healthy environments allow vulnerable populations to thrive. It’s in no way a given that those vulnerable to a pandemic like this would be “dead soon” anyway. Science doesn’t back that ridiculous assertion and neither does common sense.
