Yes. i wanted to make it intense so i could fit 3 faster days in the week, but i didnt want it super fast like at lactate threshold. it is a good way for me to get started in the week, and also push my aerobic system a lot.

Where are the strides or hill sprints? These need to be twice a week, walk back recovery , it’s about form/economy and nothing else.
Why the hell would you peak for September? Peak for the post season.
The 7-8 at 7:10 is okay every now and then. But I may suggest something like Fartlek 1 min on, 3 min off x 6-8. It gets you going quick, it keeps things from being boring, but also allows full recovery and doesn’t go lactic. Nothing should be lactic in base phase, if going that speed no more than a minute and full recovery. Be careful with that tempo, it needs to be comfortably hard not a race. You race that 3/5M workout each week and you’ll peak in August.
Consistency is king and mike matter.
Thanks. Yeah i just want to peak whenever i am ready to break 17. i dont care if its pre season i just want to progress that much this year.
yeah i was going to add strides twice a week full recovery, but i didnt add it in there.
thanks for that workout though. i will be sure to add that in. my goal is really to push my aerobic system a ton and i figured a long(ish) steady state run would do that pretty quickly.
ill do whatever it takes but i want to break 17 during THIS season and not later.
Congratulations on sub-5, and good luck with sub-17. Just keep in mind that you can't force it. Maybe you'll be ready for it in the fall, or faster. Or may it will take you until your senior year. It's still worth working for in either case.
Thank you. i will be sure to keep that in mind. i think im going to break 18 minutes really quick and then see how it goes from there, how far i broke 18, etc.
