I've been running on sharp rolling hilly asphalt roads since early march. I've been doing my tempos and intervals on the same roads though i do the intervals in the flattest stretch i could find but it's still the same surface type. I haven't gotten any faster and i've been trusting my gut on the interval times since i'm using GPS and the times are not reliable as a track obviously.
My easy runs have gotten somewhat slower, is it due to the roads? Trails aren't an option though i would have killed for the oppurtunity. I haven't upped my mileage.
I know that running on concrete and hard surfaces for a long time isn't good and varying up the terrain is better. Should i be worried? I'll have access to a track hopefully a month from now. I used to do a lot of my mileage on a self powered treadmill called a skillmill.
