I was bored so I had a look through the UK athletics site Power of 10, and I found something very interesting. I noticed a guy who lives near me who ran 2:25 last year despite racing EVERY weekend. He's in his mid-20s and has been running up to 6 marathons per year since his early 20's, sometimes running 3 within a 2 month period. He also did a lot of half's and 10k's and an insane number of 5k's, like 30+ 5k fun runs per year every year, all seemingly at race effort (Most of them at least sub 16, and some sub 15). (Obviously hasn't raced since March though). After looking around, I found a bunch of people who do something very similar running sub-2:30 marathons and sub-16, sometimes sub-15 5k's every single weekend.
Are these people just super talented or is this a genuinely decent way to train?
