In my opinion, the answer is no. People who tell you otherwise are not being helpful. They are simply feeding their own delusions that they have succeeded through their own hard work and nothing more. In reality, it's unlikely that you even have the durability required to consistently put in 100 mile weeks for 5+ years. People who can endure years of high mileage usually have excellent mechanics and the right body frame. The fact that you barely break 20 minutes indicates that you do not have the right genetics to even train for the Olympic Trials.
There are thousands of people out there busting their asses for years to try and qualify for Boston, a much more modest goal. Many of them will never make it despite proper training and motivation.
Brian Sell was so popular on letsrun because among other things, he was only a 10:3x 3200 guy in high school. It was almost unheard of for someone with so little talent to run so fast as an adult. 10:3x is light years better than barely sub-20 for 5k.
You likely have other talents. It makes a lot more sense to focus on your talents and stick to running as a hobby. A Boston qualifier would be very impressive for someone with your talent. Or maybe just shoot for some faster 5k and 10k times.
