I believe it is posterior it the inside of my right shin

If it is actually shin splints, then yes, you will probably be able to train through it if you have reasonable pain tolerance. Obviously you need to make sure that you do not train too hard, so that your muscles actually have enough time to recover and strengthen. There are lots of past threads on this; some recommend for example running backwards to help strengthen the muscles (this is not a joke, running backwards has several benefits).
It is rather a stress fracture, then no, you should not train through it, and almost certainly will eventually not be able to if you try.
It’s definitely shin splints because the one day actually my long run day it did not bother me at all and it was a pretty good long run for me to.
I think that was because the day before and before my run I did a lot of massaging of the area and iced it.
I would do the backwards run I g but that seems kinda dangerous to just do on the roads or a trail. I have a treadmill but I think it would have to be really slow so I could actually get off or turn around.
